Midnight Sun – Part I

Midnight Sun – Part I is a custom album cover for an independent band's streaming release, blending 1950s sci-fi with pin-up art set at a retro pool party in outer space. The scene features UFOs, pyramids, vintage swimsuits, and cosmic backdrops.

The deliverables included a 4000×4000px main cover, a layered high-resolution source file for vinyl and print, plus reframed crops for YouTube, Spotify Canvas, and social media, all from a single composition.

The first draft depicted a poolside scene with sunbathers in bubble helmets, a UFO beaming up a swimmer, distant pyramids, and a live band. Feedback led to adjustments: the band’s instrumentation was revised, some human figures were replaced with aliens, and extraneous elements were removed for clarity.

The final version introduced a bold, vintage sci-fi typography for the title, enhancing the artwork's 1950s B-movie feel. The finished piece was delivered as a layered PSD with flattened exports for streaming and print use.
