Mood of the Nation

The Mood of the Nation is Verité Research's nationally syndicated public opinion survey - tracking government approval ratings, national satisfaction, and economic confidence across Sri Lanka. The survey is based on a Gallup-style methodology, gathering data through a nationwide randomized sample of over a thousand respondents to gauge public sentiment on critical socio-political viewpoints.

I designed the data infographics for this survey across all three official languages - English, Sinhala, and Tamil. The objective was to ensure these critical findings could be distributed simultaneously to national television channels, print media, and digital platforms, reaching every segment of Sri Lanka's diverse media landscape.

The June 2022 edition of the poll captured Sri Lanka at a historic breaking point during the economic crisis. The survey revealed that the government approval rating had collapsed to just 3%. Furthermore, the nation's economic confidence score hit a staggering negative (-) 96 out of a possible (-) 100 - meaning almost the entire country viewed the economy as being in poor condition and actively worsening. My role was to translate these stark, defining statistics into clear, authoritative visuals that commanded the national conversation.
